I was interviewed yesterday for a piece by KRGV News in the Rio Grande Valley on changes in cartel leadership stemming from arrests and deaths. Check out the video here:

Just as a note, I did NOT say I knew for sure that Tony Tormenta had been replaced. I said that it was up to Jorge "El Coss" Costilla Sánchez to decide if he wanted to run the Gulf cartel by himself or replace Tormenta by promoting a lieutenant from within.
Most cartels do replace their local leaders right away. However I believe that CDG is on the way out, surrounded by Federal Forces and Zetas all over, they have nowhere else to go.
In your interview you also mentioned how zetas are recruiting very young teenagers who are not as efficient as the original zetas, who were grown up men with military training most of them.
In general I'd say that these are signs that the Mexican government has the upper hand on this war on drugs.
The Army and the Federal Police are shooting down drug cartel operators every single day across the country. We should begin to see some results soon.
